Vitali is a tough SOB who I think could have competed in any era of HW's (once he learned his lesson i the Byrd fight)

            I'm a Vitali fan.

He was ahead on both scorecards at the time those fights were stopped,he was never out boxed or knocked out and that is a fact.

I don't think anyone can say anything bad about him.

Everything you need and would want in a heavyweight.

Retiring while avoiding Haye isn't the best way to go out. But still Vitali was a great champion while he lasted, and might just about make it into the top 100 heavyweights of all time.

It's a shame he'll be remembered most for avoiding Haye though, that would be the ideal fight for them both to retire on in my opinion.
