Tell the truth. Do you dislike certain boxers because of their fan base?

I try very hard not to judge boxers by their fan base but I realize it is almost impossible.

Pacquaio, Calzaghe, Roy Jones, Tyson, Klithsckos, Floyd all have had their share of rabid fans.

I am currently reading this one poster 'Jack London' on another big boxing site and the things he's spewing regarding k2 is horrendously offensive and racist. It's really a shame because I realize there are so many intelligent Klitschko fans on this site and that other one.

Pacquaio fans who go NUTS over everything Floyd does and at times also seem borderline racist/offensive.

Floyd Fans who ALSO seem offensive etc. Goes both ways.


Joe Calzaghe fans who spew delusional stats and 'twisted logic' etc.


I realize that once again you should not judge a boxer by his fan base. But that's very hard to do isn't it?

The exception btw is Floyd Mayweather. I think people actually dislike Floyd for being Floyd, not for his fan base.

Floyd fans, it wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for their racism.

I mean Floyd himself does enough to not make me a fan, with his ducking/cowardness in general, but his fans are so thuggish and dumb it's not even worth it.

What if Andre Ward's fans acted like Floyd? Will you root for Ward still? Or that will still turn you off because of the fans?

Not really, it just makes it more fun to give the obnoxious fans ***** when their guys lose.

With Khan I was like neutral, his style is too spastic and ugly for my liking, actually he resembles a ****** on roller skates at times, but he makes some entertaining fights and fights stern opposition so that kind of makes up for it. I don't care that much about him having a big mouth like many others do.

But I have fun messing with some of his delusional fans who seem to think being fast means you have great skills.

No. I've been to live events and fans of a lot of fighters in person are a lot different than how they are represented on boxingscene.

So no, the opinions of people who I've never met on online message boards don't affect my opinions on the fighters themselves.
