Exactly! And it was out of character, so that tells you how effective Mares was at taking that real estate. He's much more skilled than people give him credit for.

Yes he did. Moreno was running like a scared bitch 85% of the fight.

I was referring to him being off balance every time he literally jogged toward Moreno..only once did Moreno stop and popped Mares while Mares was running..that's risky because when you're jogging you're naturally off balance..and he was risking being dropped..

Say what you will, but Mares mad a fan out of me yesterday. I am starting to appreciate him more. He is an exciting fighter and I would definitely like to see Donaire with Mares in a unification match. That would be exciting since it is two exciting champions going toe-to-toe. Since we know their styles, at this point, we can be sure that fight will deliver. Although Donaire is a bit more tentative, I think Mares can make him fight so there will be fireworks in that fight. If the fight with Donaire doesn't get made, well, there is always Santa Cruz and that will be a hell of a fight, as well.

I say we get Mares-Rigo on the undercard of Cotto-Alvarez if it gets made for Cinco de Mayo weekend (and if Cotto wins of course)

Only problem is Rigo is Top Rank and Arum will probable stall his career and keep him away from Mares..

Moreno got trapped a lot, much more than he is accustomed to. Moreno did sometimes turn him and get around him for some rounds, but Mares was cutting him off the majority of the time.

Moreno's backpedaling was embarrassing a couple of times, but he really couldn't do anything else. Mares had no respect for his power until the later rounds.
