    Kelly Pavlik?

Has anybody heard of this middleweight? His record is pretty good, at least on paper. 23-0 20 KOs. He's not exactly in the scene right now though - It's pretty much Taylor and Wright, with a little Abraham and a little Sturm in the mix.

Anyways, my question is, do any of you guys know him well in terms of his skills? How good is he? Can he compare with the champs and contenders right now?

    Thanks

He's 27-0 (24). He's fighting Jose Zertuche on 01/21 next year. He just knocked out Fugencio Zuniga. He's pretty good, but he's being moved really slowly. And, no, he can't compare with the champs. At the moment, he's just too inexperienced. I expect him to be quite good in another year or two though. He'll only be 24 or 25 at that point.

Kid ran into some legal problems when he punched out a off duty cop moonlighting as security at a bar. He should still be able to fight if he ain't a repeat offender, but he could also serve some time if his legal history is a punk's.

I see him being a contender, but not good enough to handle Hop, Taylor, Wright, or Abraham, but he may continue to progress. He's got good fundies and decent pop, but in his last fight he was too willing to trade inside where he was less effective, mainly because he relies leverage for his power which he loses inside.
