Marg's best weight was 147, in the rematch he weighed 154.

Because Mosley beat the dog s hit out of him. He was officially shot as of then. Partly ass whuppin'... but mostly... in most eyes that is...because of no longer cheating.

mosley cracked his so-called "great" chin.....also was the first to ko him in that fashion. pac also faced an inactive, weight drained, shot to holy hell version of margarito.....add the fact that margarito is a bum to begin with, that win that pac got against him isn't worth dog-ish.

With that said, Cotto looked a little better in this fight but if you noticed towards the 8th round on he was getting a little discouraged from hitting Margarito with everything and he still kept coming forward. I think the difference in this fight was definitely Pedro Diaz. The problem with Cotto is that he trains to win a fight by the 7th round and gasses out badly! If Cotto had better cardio and fought like it was a 15 rounder then he would of gave Margarito a serious beat down. I just think Margarito still had some fight left in him when the fight was stopped and I for one would of loved to have seen what would of happened in those final 2 rounds! Maybe Cotto could of got the KO or ......? We'll never know!

I still think he beats Trout though. After seeing Trout fight Delvin Rodriguez, in that snooze fest, Cotto will bring a lot more pressure than what Delvin was able to and I see Cotto maybe winning by TKO late or UD.
I don't care what anyone says. A person that's willing to sacrifice their life and well being for our entertainment deserves respect. A fighter like Ortiz would've quit.

hate him or love him Margarito's courage and heart is inspirational.

He then got dominated by Pacquiao, breaking his orbital bone in the process.

After yet another year long lay-off he then fought Cotto, when he really shouldn't have been fighting at all (personally I think he should've been banned for life).

Mosley knocked him off his perch, and a few branches hit him on the way down.
Ladies and gentlemen we have a winner here. Margarito cheater or not has been tainted forever. All his fights will be in question. Weather Pacquiao or Mosley did Cotto a favor, Marg's eye was swolle shut enough that it had to be stopped! Bottom line haters, it was a good stoppage and you can't live with that. Cotto is shot I admit, but that man erased an L off his record that night. How many fighters could say that? Good night.

"PinoyNation" of course he'll mention the Pacquiao beating but not the Mosley beating followed by the 1 year and a half lay off/Pacquiao beating.

Mosley/1 year-half lay off/Pacquiao; ruined Margarito and he was basically a done fighter when Cotto got him in the rematch.

Karma caught up to Tony after ruining careers, I still remember the Lujan fight where his ear was hanging almost completely off his head. Cotto did good in the first fight until Tony's wraps dried.

Cotto won because of a few reasons and I cant say which one has more weight than the other but I know a few reasons.

                    1. Cotto fought a smarter fight. He moved more, he wasn't afraid to clinch and he didn't lay on the ropes and always was a better fighter than Margarito.

                    2. The doctor stopped the fight when Margarito seemed to me like he was about to repeat the first fight!!!

                    3. Stars were aligned so the good guy can avenge his loss to perceived cheater??

Lol anyway, they ruined my boy Tony trying to live up to the "Mexican warrior" thing and his smashed up eye stopped him from repeating the first fight IMO.

Margarito wasn't able to wear bricks in his hands this time.
