He's obviously not an all time great or hall of famer. But if "he ain't that good" then he should be getting blasted out of the ring or losing in dominating fashion. Sillakh couldn't do that, Bute barely escaped with a win on my cards and it seems the same on every other fans cards.

There's 'not looking good' which is what Grachev is, but 'he ain't good' is pushing it. I say he is at least a good fighter. If he isn't then Sillakh and Bute are just not that good fighters either then. Who cares if he was being outboxed, he won in the end. His pressure got Sillakh. Bute was also outboxing him but he was still winning rounds with his pressure. He IS a good fighter.

It's crazy how people are saying that Grachev was better than we gave him credit for, and that's why Bute looked mediocre. BULLSHIT! There are many brawlers/pressure fighters in the sport with better technique/foot-work. Grachev isn't even a top fighter @LHW and he looked drained too. This was supposed to be a tune-up for Bute, nothing more. It wound up turning into a war lol

Grachev = power + chin + toughness. If Grachev was chosen to get Bute ready for the rematch and he barely beat him, how could his team put him back in with Froch while having 100% confidence in their fighter? Froch saw what we all saw, and he can't wait to back in the ring with Bute. It'll be like Juanma/Salido 2, and at best (for Bute), Tarver/Jones 3.

Grachev doesn't have great technical skills or fancy footwork. He only started boxing a few years ago when he was well into his 20s.

But he's a natural-born fighter and tough as they come.

I predicted that he would stop Bute late, but my mind changed when I saw him at the scale and heard that the fight was at 170. He gets brought down in weight, and still puts on a good performance. Grachev did himself justice, but if Bute was as good as some say, he would've won this fight decisively with his superior skill/talent. Froch has similar qualities to Grachev, but has more experience and therefore is a better overall fighter. If Bute could barely handle a weight-drained Grachev, there's no way he's gonna beat a healthy Froch.

He wasn't just getting outboxed, he got dropped and hurt. He's no better than guys like Andrade or Soto Karass. I don't use the word 'good' when I talk about these guys.

If he's not good and made two top 10 highly thought of fighters look mediocre, then boxing sucks I guess. Any guy off the street can start boxing late, come in to boxing and give the top 10 hell.

I had it 115-114 for Gravech. 6,5, and 1 round even.

Yes. The weight loss may have taken a little off Grachev's intensity and power, he possibly would have won at 175.
