    Centro de Usos Múltiples (CUM) in Hermosillo - Featherweight prospect Oscar Valdez (1-0, 1KO), a 2008 and 2012 Mexican Olympian, made his pro debut with a second round stoppage of Ángel “Chamuco” Prado (1-2). Prado went down in the second and was stopped a moment later after taking some more shots. Valdez, managed by Frank Espinoza, recently signed a multi-year promotional agreement with Top Rank.

        Easy fight for Valdez, he showed good speed and great accuracy, but has to work on his shots, they were just too wide.

            Stoppage was a little premature, still did good. Was hoping to see more body shots though.

                  I was very impressed with Valdez in the Olympics. I felt his style would transition well into the pros. We shall see.

                    We were very happy how he looked. There are some things he needs to correct, but for a pro debut... we were very happy.

                    Keep an eye out for him. And watch him progress...
