    A tribute to Chris Byrd

Chris Byrd started his career at a 168 pounds, he made a calculated business decision to become a HW and it paid off big time. Obvilsouly it would take awhile before Byrd would become a champion but his perseverance and determination paid off. He is an undersized HW bravely taking on guys who always outweight him, coupled with his soft punches and you got a warrior. SInce Byrd didn't have a big punch he had to master pure boxing skills, and defense. He was great at both and at his peak he was one of the best, if not the best defensive HWs ever.

All the Chris Byrd haters only dream of acheiving what Byrd acheived. True fight fans know the kinda balls it takes to even get into a ring, let alone be a David fighting a Goliath almost every time out.

Heres to you Chris Byrd the IBF Heavyweight Champion of the World.

        hmm

Not to be an ass, but you shouldn't post pics from two fights that Byrd easily could have lost. Post some from Tua or someone else.

Anyway, Byrd made a MISTAKE going to heavyweight. Because of that, he'll never be recognized as one of the greatest whereas if he had fought at 168 his whole career he might have dominated. Byrd as a heavyweight has been far from dominant.

Byrd needs to realize that most people rank him as the #1 heavyweight (Toney is obviously the best, but resume-wise and longevity-wise, Byrd is #1). He needs to fight as many of the big names as possible because he honestly has maybe 3 good years left in him.
