A cheat is a roider like Peterson or a glove loader like Margarito. Wrong term applied in the thread title. Ortiz merely fouled the guy and was punished by the ref. What followed was just as bad as the headbutt, particularly given the incompetence of the pet official.
The best ending for a cheat I've ever seen..

what ortiz did is a little percentage of what floyd does with his elbow on his opponents face once in a while
if u called ortiz headbut a cheat what do call floyds elbow rowl on his opponents face?
and thus floyd deserve the headbutt also
or probably worse coz his been doin it for a long time nowComment

I was actually more pissed at Floyd the way that fight ended.
Did Ortiz pull a ***** move? Absolutely. But what Floyd did robbed the paying fans of the rest of that fight.
Sure Ortiz should have protected himself (will never understand why there was 0 reaction after the first sucker punch) but the better way to handle it would have been for Floyd to let the fight get started again and legitimately KO his ass.
Doesn't really matter, Ortiz was going down anyway, why give the haters more ammo with a sucker punch?
And yes, Margacheato getting smoked by old man Mosley was the best ending a cheater could have ever received. Ortiz pulled a punk move, Margacheato actions could have permanently injured someone.Comment

I thought it was very funny. I couldn't be annoyed, I was laughing too hard. Seriously, screw Ortiz. You can hug Mayweather all you want after the fight, stop hugging and fight.
The only real blame should be on Cortez for being inept, and Ortiz for being an idiot. (Not directed at you, more boxing fans in general.)Comment

my god are you fcking clueless!!
"merely fouled"? how about maliciously, blatantly and intentionally fouled. i think you are the one using the wrong terms buddy. a foul that blatant could easily be called cheating.
most importantly however, the ref did NOTHING wrong. you keep saying cortez made a mistake, i keep asking you how and you keep refusing to answer lol.
its not a foul to punch someone in the face in boxing match, so what was he supposed to call?
cortez told them to fight, ortiz should have done just that, fight. how are you gonna drop your hands, get knocked out and blame the ref? it makes no sense whatsoever.
cortez told them to fight and floyd broke no rules by throwing punches in a boxing match, there was nothing for cortez to do but count. simple as that.
ortiz punished himself, he is the only person to blame just like he was the only person being incompetent. dropping your hands, looking away and getting slept right in the middle of the action is bloody incompetent by someone who is supposed to box for a living.
cortez handled the situation perfectly. if he made a mistake it was not deducting two points from ortiz, something that would be well within his right considering how damaging and blatantly intentional the butt was.Comment
