this isn't an unfair stripping. The WBA had ordered Sturm many moons ago to give its number 1 contender Golovkin a title shot. Sturm avoided him like the plague. When Geale fought Sturm it was understood and expressly stated that the WBA was going to order whoever won to fight Golovkin and give him the opportunity he had thus far been deprived of immediately. Geale knew that going in. Now that he won the belt, Geale doesn't want to fight Golovkin. He is being appropriately stripped.

It was an inevitability really, but just never like to see a belt passed like that especially so quick.

Hopefully Golovkin makes good use of that belt.

Zero chance Martinez fights Golovkin. Zero.
        Right...

Not because Martinez would duck GGG, but Golovkin has nothing to date in order to fill the purse Sergio is looking for.

I don't see Martinez vs Golovkin ever happening.

Martinez has bigger fights like Canelo Mayweather and Chavez jr again

GBP could make a great card with Canelo Martinez, Mexico vs Argentina

          Alvarez vs Martinez
Ortiz vs Maidana 2, it'd be a great card.

as for GGG, his best bet is having HBO pressure somebody like Macklin into fighting GGG.

Two words: double standard. I realize that the WBA stated before both previous fights (GGG's and Geale's) that winners would face each other, but they always have said that same **** to Sturm too, and somehow he just kept doing whatever the hell he wanted.

Well thats nice but it really doesn't matter at all what organizations do with made up belts, neither GGG or anyone else not named Sergio at MW is a champion.

This should give Golovkin some bargaining power.

GGG wld destroy Geale, destroy him, the only real competition i see for GGG is Martinez, but doubt that will happen... GGG vs Chavez Jr wld be a mismatch too, GGG wld dsetroy him, GGG has some serious power, but Martinez is the only one who can beat him cuz oh his unorthodox style...

Gaele's best boxing skills are his ability to duck and dodge. LOL I really feel for GGG, it's so unlikely he'll ever get a crack at the big boys. The more impressively he wins the more promoters will use the "who the hell is he" and "he only fights B level competition" excuses. Anthony Mundaine? HAHA Nice to see modern day gladiators take the safe route.
