Comments Thread For: Hearn Talks Froch, Bellew, Purdy-Jones, Barker, More

Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn is steeling himself for a bumper November and December schedule that will see most his stable’s main stars feature across two big bills. Carl Froch headlines at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena on November 17 when he defends his IBF super middleweight title against Yusaf Mack and Darren Barker makes his return on a December 8 bill at London’s Olympia venue — both shows will be broadcast live on Sky Sports here in the U.K.

I would love it - Kevin Keegan style - if Purdy beats Jones but I just cannot see it.

John Murray has it at the moment.

Hearn talks such a load of nonsense.

"It wasn't the real Carl Froch in there" my as$. Who was it then? It was the final of the Super Six, Froch was in incredible shape, he just got bested by a guy he could never beat, whether the fight's in Oakland, Nottingham or the moon.

Yes Ward was better than Froch but I think what Hearn is getting at is that Froch had some personal stuff on his mind, family stuff back in the UK while he was stuck in the US for 3 weeks, he also has a dodgy ear drum, I don't think it was ruptured at the time of the fight but I know he was still re-covering from it.

Froch hasn't turned these things into excuses, he would just like another crack at Ward to do himself justice, I think a more focused Froch makes the fight more competitive. That isn't too much to ask is it? Especially considering they are 1 and 2 in the division.

The only person who had a valid excuse for that fight is Andre Ward. Let's not forget that he beat Froch with one hand.

No body is making excuses. All I'm saying is there were distractions, which is what Hearn is hinting at. Froch isn't out of line for saying that he'd like another crack at Ward, they are number 1 and 2 in the division by a mile.

And where do people like you find these pictures? Do you have a folder on your computer full of pictures ready to whip out when you're trying to defend your fav fighters?

That picture was posted all over BoxingScene after the fight with Froch. Pretty impressive that Andre could dominate The Cobra with only one hand if you ask me.
