I wouldn't give Ward P4P #1 yet just because his division is pretty shallow. I'd put him #3 above Sergio for reasons already mentioned about Martinez having vulnerabilities but still behind Pac and PBF. Even if they haven't cleared out divisions, those two have fought future HOFs and beat them comfortably. They may have the benefit of being in a more talented division, and Ward might have been able to take on a fighter the likes of prime James Toney or RJJ or whoever, but chances are we'll never know for sure unless someone comes up. What we do know is that the two top guns are proven against the best in the fight game today, and that's more important in P4P discussion then clearing out a division.
how good is ward's resume?..

ward is worthy of p4p praise no doubt but how good is his resume?
lets take a look..he beat:
dawson (moving down in weight to 168, something he has'nt made since 2006)
froch = good win , best win of his career imo
abraham = another ok win ( but let's face it , AA is the every defintion of one dimentional fighter)
kessler = good win, maybe his best win
after these , who else?
he got miranda and green...
so how the hell can anyone rank him as the p4p king is beyond me...for reals!
It's not as great as some people make it out to be. He's fought people's leftovers and he didn't take risks like the others in the Super Six. Great fighters take great risks.
He's black and american so the hype in everything he does gets multiplied x10.Comment
