Hey whats up
I have a question about standing stoppages
When does a ref step in to stop a fight when both guys are still standing?
I know 'when one guy is not defending himself' is probably the common answer but is there any more specific definition?
For example in the Adamek - Walker fight recently do you think that stoppage was justified? Walker was getting knocked around and didn't 'seem' to be defending himself - but just before the end he threw out a hook. He most likely would have ended up eating a big shot and I guess that is what the ref is trying to prevent, but I'm not sure he was entirely out of it - he still had his hands up - clearly when a fighter cannot keep his hands in a defensive position and is taking shots that is a fair standing stoppage - what do you think?
