I'm sorry. I just rewatched Wladimir vs Haye. Why all the blame on Haye?

Wladimir does what he always does. . People don't expect him to burn the house down, and come out swinging for the fences. . .

Haye is the one who said "he was going to do this," and "do that." He talked himself into the fight, after only being at Heavyweight for 3 fights. . .

He didn't earn a shot, but got it because he talked up excitement by saying "he was going to brutalize Wladimir."

LOL, then he came out, winging 10 punches a round, and everybody was like "you ****ing *****. . . "

Haye deserves all the blame because he's the one who bragged about knocking the Klitschkos out of boxing and even made t-shirts showing him decapitating the bros. We know how Wlad fights, his performance wasn't disappointing he just did what he always does but Haye was acting like he would go for the KO and he didn't do ****. Wlad is the #1 guy in the div, Haye was supposed to knock him off the throne, you don't do that by running around and pot-shotting.

The offensive-minded fighter didn't do his job against the defensive minded fighter.

Haye hyped it up and failed to deliver. He deserves most of the blame.

Gaye is not really offensive minded, especially at HW. He's a counter puncher really. I think he fought the right way but just didn't throw enough punches. Fighting aggressively is what ******s like Adamek do

It can be viewed both ways. Wladimir promised to knock out Haye - "my feeefteeeith knockout victim" and all that. Whilst you could also say that the 6'7 250lbs man fought cautiously against a cruiserweight.

The problem was is that Booth & Haye's gameplan was to come in light, train to avoid Wlads jab (which he did a magnificent job of during the fight) and hit Wlad with a counter & finish him. The problem was for Haye was that he waited, and waited, and waited, and waited for an opportunity to be able to counter Wlad with something - but it never came.

The inside is where most of Wlad's KO's have come from; Sanders, Brewster etc. He doesn't have an inside game. Why do you think Haye was falling over when Wlad tried to clinch? He was forcing the issue of Wlad's dominant clinching (To no avail). In essence it's Haye's only chance as he was unable to KO Wlad from the outside or even when he got in intermediate range Wlad just took 2 steps backward and forced Haye to throw wild punches from the outside.

Wlads height, reach, footwork, use of feints and control of range meant that Haye was reduced to lunging shots in an attempt to land anything at all.

You can be an offensive minded counter-puncher, ask Donaire. Haye pulls the trigger way more often than Wlad but in their fight I guess his gun jammed.

Haye talked a LOT more **** than Wlad, he talked his way to an undeserved shot and then demonstrated the art of fighting without fighting.

This is the best post of the thread.

haye fought what he said he would, he said he'd go in there, throw bombs and go for the ko, and that's how he fought

what we got was one guy looking to land only big shots, points not even occuring to him
and the other just jab jab, jab jab...

                  conclusion = sht fight

the hate haye gets though is just because he's always had haters, people never liked all his talk, and the loss to wlad and then the toe thing, my god

Haye has a wide stance and unorthodox footwork, he also has balance issues when fighting the bigger man. Very fast feet and good lateral movement, but from a pure technical point of view, his feet are spread too far apart in his usual stance which means after he throws one or two shots he gets way off balance and has to reset again.

Add the fact that Wlad is 6'7 and Haye fights from a 5'9/10 crouch-point, it didn't help Haye chances at all. I'm a big Haye fan but let's be realistic here.

Haye put in more of an effort than Adamek but you never hear anyone question Adamek's effort.
