  • Comments Thread For: Thomas Dulorme Plans To Drop To Junior Welterweight

Puerto Rican prospect Thomas Dulorme (16-1), who had a good run in the welterweight division, suffered his first loss on Saturday night in Verona, New York. Dulorme was knocked out in seven rounds by the hard-hitting Argentine puncher Carlos Abregu (34-1 28KOs).

Dulorme doesn't have any problems making the welterweight limit of 147-pounds. He plans to take a break and return in 2013 as a junior welterweight.

Not a good plan. He's a big, lean 147. Losing 7lbs of muscle on a growing 22 year isn't the way to go. Maybe a little less graphic design, stop reading his press clippings which were substantial and train accordingly. Also, maybe those Margarito jaw push-ups might be in order. Anyone recall how Margarito used to put only his jaw and feet on the floor and then raise up with the jaw.

Why? If you can make it you should take it. Dulorme says he makes 147 eating rice and beans.

I doubt he would have to kill himself to make 140 if this is the case.

sounds extreme bro, but i believe just like punchers, you gotta be born with a good chin, can make your jaw muscles stronger, but punch resistance is a god given gift.

              Overall, excellent post.

because being heavier makes him sturdier.
