Comments Thread For: Provodnikov Pumped, Wants Brandon Rios WBO Title Bout

As BoxingScene.com first reported last week, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) ordered a title battle between 26-year-old Brandon Rios (WBO #1, 31-0-1, 23KOs) and 28-year-old Ruslan Provodnikov (WBO #2, 22-1, 15KOs). The junior welterweight title currently held by Juan Manuel Marquez is going to become vacant because the Mexican boxer is moving up to fight Manny Pacquiao for a fourth time on December 8th in Las Vegas.

this fight should be emulsified and put into the drinking water.

is it too much to ask to be able to watch the fights every so often to simply be entertained? we don't need to watch the best boxers to get a great fight. in fact, it's often the vulnerable fighters who make for memorable action.

arum is going the right rout with rios if he's trying to turn him into an action fighter against other aggressors. eventually he'll wear down, but until then he'll provide fireworks consistently, something of which few fighters are capable.

I thought Alverado was fighting Provodnikov? Either one would be great, but i doubt Rios gets it, they're probably looking at bigger names by now.

Rios will pass and move up to get a bigger fight then in steps Alvarado which would be a more competitive and closer to their respective level fight

This is like the irresistable force vs the immovable object but eventually Rios wears Providnikov in a brutal beatdown.

So many opportunities for Rios it's crazy, but none of these fights would be happening if it wasn't for his crowd pleasing style. After watching Miguel Vasquez fight this weekend I have a new found love and respect for what Rios does.

That's the obvious, but I still have faith that Team Rios will make the smart decision and bring him along steadily. I think Bradley/Rios is more of a possibility.
