Rafa gracias por las buenas peleas que diste!!!

2 mexican warriors hang them up in a matter of a week.

i remember watching Rafa on kcal 9 when i was a kid, every 3 months he would be on, no dodging, no vacations, nothing, great worker.

Rafa was competitive. He wobbled Mijares in the first round. He could have just hugged and stayed out of harm's way but he is the typical Mexican, on attack mode, guts, no hugging. He paid the price but that is why people will remember him as a warrior.

i have to agree with you bro, it is similar to castillo & chico ending each other careers, after their fights they have left something on the ring and imho was never the same...

Rafael knew it was over when he backed out of the fight in Puerto Rico. He should have let it go then, or did he think he'd do better and rejuvinate outside of PR. He kept going and Knocked Out for his finale. Nobody wants to go out on a bad note, but I hope he doesn't get a goodby fight against a nobody just so he can go out with a win. It's over.

They didn't end each other's career. They both were stuck in no man's land after they moved up from '35. They were too big for for '35 and '40 but not big enough for '47. Plus, Castillo was already old and in that transition to gatekeeper status and Corrales was always struggling to make '35.

It's a WBC rule fighter that causes a headbutt gets a point deduction, funny they would have rules but it's not always followed so stays on par with there normal S.O.P
