I would have to agree with you. Rios is a fully unskilled fighter, but he is gonna run thru ruslan. not like it would matter, cause if arum wants a pac-rios fight, rios has the W when the contracts are signed. I hope rios-pac doesn't get made, and they have rios fight another good fighter. I dont want pac to be the one to expose and annihilate rios, thats too much of a given...

I say rios rios fights ruslan, then gets humiliated by a top 3 JWW - garcia, mattyhse, bradley, whatever...

Rios wins by KO in mid rounds probably. I just don't see Ruslan beating Rios. As I said before, Rios is not very highly skilled but he actually has more skill than a lot of people credit him for. Sure he is a brawler and walks people down but he is not some wild swinging caveman. He works the body great and has good uppercuts and overhand rights, he also has a pretty good jab. I think people just keep underestimating him simply because they either hate him or because of one bad decision (Abril). His chin is just iron and as long as it holds up, anyone in the ring with him is going to have a serious problem. The one poster who said he doesn't even have a puncher's chance against Pac is a fool...how can someone not even have a puncher's chance? Anyone has a puncher's chance? That statement makes no sense. I am not saying Rios can beat Pac, personally I am not sure he could. However, if Pac is unable to put him away after 4-5 rounds, he would be in serious trouble if they fought, because Pac is about as hard to hit as a barn door lol.

A war if it gets made. I like this fight much better than Provo-Bradley.

If this gets stuck at the Home Depot Center in Carson then I'm there!

This will be a good fight but if Rios lets Prov hit him like he let Alvarado hit him, he might get stopped. Alvarado was marking him up and he doesn't hit as hard as Ruslan does........this is a risky fight for him.

he's not a caveman, I'll give him that, but he does not have anything in his arsenal that is good. he throws ugly wild bombs, hoping they land, and they usually do, because he brings out the "machismo" in fighters and they think they have to **** it out with him to prove a point. thats why he wins fights, by making fighters fight his fight, and that is just about the only skill he has, and he is great at it. all it takes is someone with focus and discipline, and rios looks like someone off the street stepping into the ring (ie Abril)

ps pac would not be in trouble at any point if he fought rios, not even close. there is some good posters i have seen here that actually believe rios is a world class fighter, or maybe they're trolling who knows. rios is popular and loved because he is fan friendly. no skills, no generalship, just crude "head in your chest and keep punching no matter what." so far its worked, but not for long, eventually hes gonna have to fight a top shelf guy, then we will see what he does...

Great matchup if it happens - Provodnikov looks vulnerable to the uppercut, which is Rios's best punch, but Rios has looked very limited on the outside & Provodnikov has a very solid outside game, especially if he uses that strong jab a little more. He's also strong enough to limit Rios on the inside, either by tying him, bulling him or just shoving him off.
Rios is the guy with the extra experience though, & that could be critical...

I'd put the odds at 2/1 for Rios with a solid chance of an upset in a great fight.

Bob Arum makes no sense he wants to let go matchups like lopez-gamboa build up for 20 tuneups while one of them gets derailed. Yet wants to rush Rios into pacqiuao damage him early making him move up to early reminds me of golden boy feeding lopez to canelo tho canelo is far from pac.

Would be a great fight for Rios and would tell us more about rios then the alavarado fight. Ruslan is tough and unknown viturally but a rising contender which can get him a belt and a fight with bradley or Garcia to then earn himself pacqiuao. A fight like this rios should try push himself to be greater by winning without taking the same or greater amount of shots then his opponent.

Scrapping will always be his bread and butter but this is a fight he could try work on defense and not go blow for blow every second. Because if you fight like Gatti all the time you only have a certain amount of truely prime fights before it takes its toll.

Its one thing if your Tyson and can end fights quick within a few rounds but when your trading nonstop for several rounds the
body can only take so much. Just would like to see rios establish a jab to set up his mean shots. Without a jab i can't see him being elite at 147 nevertheless be thrown against the best so quick in pac.

please get out of here with that nonsense. So we rewarding fighters and calling them boxers when they clinch over 80+ times and smother to stop rios from punching but while smothering rios they do nothing. All he did was limit rios effectiveness but yet he didn't captilize on anything else. that not boxing to me. Bhop would have destroy rios with 80+ clinches LOL.
