Comments Thread For: Klitschko Says Banks Will Be a Big Help Against Wach

Wladimir Klitschko (58-3, 50 KOs) is very happy to have cruiserweight Jonathon Banks in his corner on November 10th in Hamburg. Wladimir defends his WBO/IBO/WBA/IBF titles against unbeaten Polish giant Mariusz Wach (27-0, 15 KOs). Wladimir's longtime trainer, Emanuel Steward, is very ill and unable to work his corner on fight night. Banks is student of Steward's Kronk Gym in Detroit and Wladimir says the two of them have the same boxing mentality.

Banks has the toughest fight of his career one week afterwards against Seth Mitchell, and he's training Wlad?

I like Banks, he is a really tough dude and a likeable guy, but he needs to focus on his own career. It almost seems like he is half giving up against Mitchell.

I guess you could say Wlad is banking on Banks to watch Wach.

Exactly my thoughts. I had to see if there was another Jonathon Banks boxer out there because it doesn't seem logical for Banks to be so worried with training, or helping with the preparation, with Wlad, than his own fight.

And it's not like Wlad or Wilder (who's also in camp with Wlad) mimic what he'll see with Mitchell, so I'm perplexed on this one.
