Holyfield eye's that belt and wants some of his former glory.

i think Holy could beat him, but then again i beleive Holy could beat anyone. I just watched Cinderalla man yeasterday, it just goes to show that anything can happen in the ring. If he does get the fight i really hope hope he wins so that he can finally retire.

I can't see the Evander winning against Valuev, and if he seriously thinks he can, he needs another brain scan.

          1. that was hollywood, this is reality. two very different worlds with very different possiblities.
          2. braddock wasnt 43 years old when he challenged for the title.
          3. braddock wasnt 10" shorter than his opponent.
          4. braddock wasnt 115 lbs lighter than his opponent.

comparing this fight with the cinderella man matchup just doesnt work, on any level.

You honestly think Holyfield can beat anyone, especially after seeing him get owned by Larry Donald?

                Rocky did it against Drago.
                Ruiz was like Apollo Creed.
Ruiz trained Holyfield for Holyfield's last fight too.

Holyfield will avenge his former rival's death by fighting Valuev on Christmas day in Russia.

Then he'll wake up and go have some egg nog and say "P-p-Praise Jesus, I just had a good dream. I-I-I-I w-will become undisputed heavyweight champion again." Then he'll have sex with his mistress of the week, with Benny Hinn playing on the TV.

                  Holyfield eyes fight with Valuev
Veteran Evander Holyfield wants a shot at Russia's new giant WBA heavyweight champion Nikolay Valuev.

The 43-year-old American, a former undisputed world heavyweight champion, said he was undaunted by Valuev's hulking 7ft, 24st frame.

"I'm hoping that I get the opportunity to fight him," Holyfield told BBC Radio Five Live. "It would be a good show.

"The art of the game of boxing is not so much the size but what you can do with what God's given you."

Valuev became the tallest and heaviest champion in boxing history with a controversial points win over WBA heavyweight holder John Ruiz on Sunday.

But the 6ft 2in Holyfield, who beat Mike Tyson twice in 1996 and 1997, believes he can overcome the significant height advantage.

"You can be big but if you can't fight, you don't have the punch or don't have the skills that are necessary then you're just another fighter," he said.

"It's obvious that he'll get tired if you move a lot. I should have faster hands so I should be able to dot in and dot out and hit him with a lot of punches.

"He could throw one hard shot and that could be it - but you've got to not let him hit you and you've got to hit him."

Holyfield was put on a medical suspension after losing his last fight against Larry Donald in November 2004 - his fifth defeat in his last eight bouts.

But despite earning an estimated $150m (£80m) in the ring during a 20-year career, the four-time heavyweight champion is determined to bow out of the sport on a high note.

"The most important thing is finishing properly," he said.

                  -----------------

Oh my ****ing godness.. Holyfield is a legend! If he fights Valuev he will most likely lose against the worst heavyweight champion ever.. why is he doing this? He is my alltime favorite fighter and it hurts to see his recent career decisions
He's doing it because he's delusional and he can. And Knowing King, it might even come off. I weep with you, dude. I like Holyfeidl a helluva lot.

Speaking of Cinderella man, apparently Jim Braddocks opponent (Max Baer) had a broken right hand for the fight! Braddock and Baer were about the same size and Baer only lost by decision. So it just goes to show how Hollywood glamourises things.

Back to the topic, I hope Evander, or any decent Heavyweight whups that lanky Russion chump. I just hope that Holyfield is still alive afterwards!

I'm just saying, that when a fighter has that much heart, anything can happen. thats why Brewster is champ today.
