A lot off ppl use that term here and there but isn't that what a boxer tries to do punch (KO) his opponent. I mean if we use Football (Soccer what you guys in "North" America call it) as an example, a player tries to cross in a ball but it lands back of the net, that's what we call lucky but boxing that’s just not the case..
Is there such thing as a lucky punch(KO)???

No.
When you kick the ball in football it could be a pass or a shot. Sometimes you go to pass and it hits the wrong part of your foot and goes into the goal, that's lucky.
But extending your arm and hitting someone is not, because that's what you intended to do and punching is the only thing you can do in the ring, legally.
So unless someone punches towards the opponents hip and the opponent happens to somehow eat that with his face, then no, it's not lucky.Comment

What the guy above said about probability is probes the best way to explain it. it's possible to land the perfect punch with your eyes closed, but it's also possible that a perfect punch that would of taken your head off can miss. When you see two fighters get knocked down at the same time when they both throw left hooks isn't lucky it's just the chance that both fighters brains told them to throw that shot at the exact same time.Comment

if a novice is just flailing away and catches another novice, then yes
a top flight boxer doesn't land a lucky punch on another top flight boxer.Comment

he's always "looking at" or recognizing spatially where his opponent is.
if he were literally just swininging randomly he might hit the round, or flail at the crowd. he's throwing a shot at a target.
probability is a nice way of putting it. luck and skill is involved in some exchanges / punches. all you've ever got in there is a general idea of where a guys head is going to be anyway.Comment
