Comments Thread For: Klitschko-Wach: Johnathon Banks To Replace Steward

BERLIN: World champion Wladimir Klitschko will have American heavyweight boxer Johnathon Banks in his corner for his November 10 bout against Poland's Mariusz Wach, it was revealed on Tuesday.

Banks, who has a fight himself on November 17 against Seth Mitchell in Atlantic City, will replace Klitschko's coach Emanuel "Manny" Steward, who is recovering after a bowel operation, according to the world champion's manager Bernd Boente.

Wait until WACH hits Wlad in the jaw with a big punch and Steward isn't in the corner to calm him down....Wlad might start to panic like he did in the old days.

      It's gonna be very interesting.

It's time to WACH AND ROLL!

WACH is a big, mean, tough SOB and he is really ripped and ready for this fight. He also is unbeaten and has never been down as an amateur or a pro.

WACH doesn't know how to lose. This is gonna be very interesting.

What interests me is each is not getting punched by gavern, Mcbride or fields....he's getting hit by wlad klitschko! How will he take it? He's a big target & wlad might go the quick kill

                A couple of things:

First off, it's interesting to see Banks taking over as head cornerman for Wlad. Is Banks eventually going to be the head coach in the Kronk training camp? He is a Kronk original, he came up in that gym through the amateurs. When Steward hits age 78, Banks will be turning 40, and by then will likely not be fighting, and will be at the right age to start as a coach.

To the people who think that Wach presents a credible challenge, watch the Wach-Tye Fields fight on Youtube. You will see that the first few rounds were very even, Fields was getting to Wach, and the two of them were at about the same handspeed level.

I don't go on these forums as often anymore but I remember that before Valuev was exposed for the first time by Larry Donald, ALOT of people on this site thought that Valuev would be taking over. In fact, that was the conensus on these forums. My point: it is really easy to get excited about a big body based on the fact that he ISN'T terrible.

Looking forward to this fight. Should be entertaining, unlike Wlad's latest couple of fights. Wach will come to fight, not just survive. Wlad will respect his power and size. Let's see if Wach's giant jaw is made of steel or jelly.
