Right now it's Karmazin because he beat what most people thought was "the man". Ouma also wasn't himself that night so hopefully we will see a rematch to prove who really is the best.

Karmazin looks good but I still think a healthy Ouma will come back and beat him in a rematch. Ouma will be the king at 154.

Ouma's demolishing of Vazquez was VERY impressive. Vasquez was definitely no slouch and he has a pretty damn good chin.

              hmm

Karmazin should be respected as the 154 "king" but in my mind a De La Hoya on top of his game is the best in the whole division. De La Hoya can re-establish himself if he wants to, it's just a matter of desire.

Not considering DLH, you'd have to say Karamzin. He beat my man Ouma who everyone thought was the best. Ouma might prove himself better in a rematch, but until that happens Karmazin is top dog. Mayorga is interesting as well. I think with his tenacity and power he could posibbly beat anyone at 154, if given the chance.

Speaking of Karmazin, he's one of the front-runners to fight Jermain Taylor next. Karmazin is big for 154. So much for Taylor taking a gimme fight for his next bout.

How come your boys are always "the best" in the division, but it's always a matter of them not having "the desire to be the best"? Can't you ever accept that your boys are no longer the best? 2004 was a golden year because two of the biggest bitches in boxing got their heads knocked off. Your two favorites! How did you ever keep from killing yourself that September?

Karmazin is a quality boxer, and Garcia's not bad either. Only two of his wins have come by decision, and he only lost to Simms because of ******ity bred through inexperience. Although he was behind on points. These two are unifying their WBA and IBF belts and should be given credit for that. I think they're both excellent fighters in a pretty good division - Mayorga, Mosley, De La hoya are all proven top level fighters. Forrest is coming back and as posted above is another excellent fighter, Sergiy Dzinziruk is a good fighter and so are Ouma, Karmazin and Garcia. Certainly better than the heavies.
