Comments Thread For: Malignaggi: It Would Be an Honor To Fight Hatton Again

Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7KOs) has set his sights on another fight with Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32KOs) after defeating Mexican Pablo Cesar Cano on a split points decision.

The 31-year-old American was stopped by Hatton in the 11th round in 2008 but is keen to take on the Briton once again if he wins his scheduled comeback fight in November against Vyacheslav Senchenko.

"It would be an honor to fight Ricky again," said Malignaggi.

New Yorker Malignaggi's hometown bout against Cano was supposed to have been a title defense for the WBA welterweight champion. [Click Here To Read More]

Malignaggi shut up I've never seen a guy win so many fights that he actually lost. Him and Zab need to fight and the winner gets to stay in Boxing the loser has to go commentate somewhere...

Translation: It would be an honor to get paid a nice chunk of change in British pounds before I retire.

I think it happens. It's Hattons easiest road to a title from 140-147.

Malignaggi would be a good fight to judge whether Hatton should keep fighting or hang'em up for good. Paulie is a still a good fighter that has a big enough name to make HBO happy enough to pay top dollar for the fight and Paulie would also be a safe fight for Hatton, who might still be a little punch drunk from the PacMan diaster. The most interesting thing about this rematch is, who would be the betting favorite?
