....and Diobelys Hurtado knocked him out years before Cotto got to him when Bailey was actually champion.

Why wouldn't you Larry? The guy is a former two division world champion and consistently rated among the top ten at 140 and 147 over the last 10-15 years and is without doubt one of the best punchers of the last decade.

Bailey had previously been knocked out, don't act like Cotto was the first to slay the beast.

no lie, cotto might have run rough shod over this current 140 lbs division... but I wouldn't count any mexican out against cotto

He has little power at 47 and up and he's on the move alot and the legs go first which puts anyone in jepardy as the rounds go by! He was a very good performer at 140 and could do well at 147 against the right opponents but against the best he losses big. Cotto fans think he did well against against Floyd! I think he benefitted from Floyds lack of fire, when Floyd wanted to step to him he out scored him, easily! Pacman blanked him through most of their fight then beat him up! Its no shame to lose but once your an elite fighter why move backwards when your an older fighter. We hate to see solid performers grow old and fight at a less than good level but when a fighter has entered that phase no one wants to tell them to think about their health! Real fans need to look closely at their favorites. If Cotto is matched correctly he could box on to gain a few more dollars but with out the big names is it worth it? Can he demand the 10+ millions on his own with out the Pacmans & Floyds? Is it worth it if he can? When the old lions begin to slow down you can bet the young lions are coming soon, they bite! Ray.

great post man, ive been sayin this for a while now. At 140 he was decent but people just have forgotten that hes had his share of defeat. and thathe was never the same after the margarito fight. its boxing it happens
