Comments Thread For: Photos: Malignaggi Gut Check, Quillin Grabs WBO Gold

Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York - WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (32-4, 7 KOs) had to get off the floor to win a twelve round split decision over Pablo Cesar Cano (25-2-1, 19 KOs) in a non-title fight. The scores were 114-113, 114-113 Malignaggi and 118-109 Cano. The Mexican fighter suffered a bad cut above his left eye in the second round, but he continued to come forward, with hard punches, and eventually dropped Malignaggi in the eleventh.

Still blows me away how Paulie( who sucks real bad) keeps getting these fights. Cano is worthless: don't know what they see in him, and finally morales. Well lets just say come backs are hardly ever pretty and there has to be some kind of limit as to who can continue to fight. You have too many ring legends getting embarrassed only because they are too old and passed their prime. We can thank Phuken foreman for that. These young guys beat old veterans and it looks good on their record. Lets just assume morales had won. What the hell could he have done as far as defend the title or who would he fight? This is getting ridiculous!!!

I don't know if u heard, but Malignaggi did beat by TKO undefeated champion Senchenko to get the title & Malignaggi ain't bad, he's got skills except that last night Cano(who also had a weight advantage by coming in over the limit) looked & performed better than he has before & even made Malignaggi hit the canvas..Very close fight that could have easily gone Cano's way..& way before Foreman there were already fighters making comebacks way past their prime...

Wow, looking at the pics it seems like N'Dam was down on the canvas the whole fight cause there are more pics of him laying on the canvas & going down than there are of him actually standing & fighting!!!

6 Official knockdowns and 2-3 so called slips.

As predicted, Quillin's fight was the best fight of the night?

Listen fool, Foreman did a good job and became world champ at an old age (old for boxing). Morales did a better job in the first fight than Khan and in the rematch he was going forward until the KO. He could have just ran and hugged like many young fighters do. Mosley, Hopkins, Martínez and Márquez are all veterans and good. Show some respect.

senchenko is a complete and utter bum. he never fought anyone and clearly has no skills. he was handed the title and kept it hostage against complete nobodies(who he almost lost to sometimes)
