    British lightweight Gavin Rees (37-1, 18KOs) has relinquished the EBU lightweight title to concentrate on a shot at the WBA title.

    The vacant title will now be contested between Italian Luca Giacon, already mandatory challenger, and the highest ranked available boxer.

              Abril and Rees agreed terms to fight but did not end up signing a contract so they went their seperate ways .
