    It met the hype. No, not the whole of the October 13 show boxing fans anticipated so heavily in recent months. The main event fizzled for most of its nine rounds.

    It didn’t matter.

    Rios-Alvarado was everything it could have been asked to be and gave fans not one but two stars to follow going forward. What now for the week ahead? U.S. television has only two shows (three if count Saturday’s Showtime undercard extras). The big one is sort of like an old Don King mega-show, packed with four fights that could be main events in different arenas, all coming together for one strong outing to bring boxing back to BK.     In retrospect it's a good thing that Donaire-Nishioka didn't get the 24/7 treatment. Imagine attracting a lot of new fans and having them tune in to that main event...
