yeah, we can all play the game of "what if" but that doesnt matter.

how about this: what if in the 2nd or 1st fight, hopkins came up with a left hook to the body that KOd taylor? its nice to think about it. but you know what matters? what really happend is what matters.

tszyu didnt come out for the 12th. its that simple.

as anorak said, never did jermain display dominance in his performances against hopkins. hatton, however, took the fight all night to both tszyu and maussa.

taylor beat a scrub in his 1st fight this year, he then wins the title on a bull**** decison, and then retains the title on a close but unanimous decision. and the man he beat was the longest reigning MW champ ever. like it or not, that is a remarkable feat and is worthy of rememberance.

but hatton domminated the 140lb king in one of the biggest fights in britain and one of the biggest fights that couldve been made this year and pulls off one of the biggest upsets in recent memory, hatton forces tszyu to quit after a spectacular performance, removing any possible controversy about hatton's victory. hatton, in his subsequent fight, takes on tough awkward carlos maussa in a rare unification fight, a fight in which hatton brawls with maussa, suffers two bad cuts over both eyes, and stops maussa with a helluva monsterous left hook.

both pulled off major upsets, but hatton was the one who looked impressive.

My point by bringing up the scorecards is that Hatton did not "dominate" Tszyu like many say he did. Tszyu quit because he knew he needed a knockout to win and he wasnt gonna get it, so what was the point of the 12th round? Hatton clearly was winning the fight, but lets not act like it was Tito-Winky or anything. Was Hatton-Tszyu more entertaining than Hopkins-Taylor? Well, I wouldnt say that, but there was definately more action. I can see how that could count for something, but not a ton. And can we please stop acting like Hatton beating Carlos Mausa should mean jack ****? Adding a paper title to your resume isn't that big of a deal.

Look, I'm not Hatton hater (I have him in my top 10 P4P), I just think Taylor did more. Knocking off the 12 year undefeated king of the division two times is damn impressive to me. Hatton had a great year, I just think Taylor's was better.

ok, there was no domination in either, but out of the two... who won more clearly between Taylor beating Hopkins and Hatton beating Tszyu... obviously Hatton.

Always great to see a 15 year old debate.

Well it doesn't really matter if those are convingcing wins or not buddy. The fact is nobody can ever win dominantly against the sleek and smart fighter in Bhops. Even if Taylor knocked Bhops out, people will just shrug it away and call it a HAYMAKER punch.

But those controversial wins will still go down as a win for Taylor and a loss for Bhops in the book so Taylor's accomplishment should be given recognition.

That whole mentality sums up why Hatton DID dominate Zoo. The guy was a respected No.1 in the division and p4p entrant. And he QUIT.

We could go back and forth with this, but winning a split decision against a guy that had you out on your feet for the last two rounds isn't "knocking him off".
