2005 Floyd at 140 was obviously faster and way fresher than he is now. He puts a beating on Rios badly. Rios corner might have stopped the fight late but if not, wide UD for Floyd.

Floyd is way more vulnerable now.

if you wanna do anything whatsoever to floyd, it is required you have at least some form of miniscule skill in the ring. Anything will do. Rios is worse than a punching bag, cause sometimes, you have to actually chase the bag around to hit it, but with Rios, you can hit him at will, with whatever punch you choose, with any speed, power, or form, in any way, at any time. Rios is so bad I cant believe Arum actually took the time to buy him some victories. Rios-Alvardo was already headed toward a robbery. Rios won 1, maybe 2 rounds, but they had him ahead and / or tied. Laughable. Rios mayweather these clowns are talking about. So awesome and sad

rofl @Rios KO poll results. oh the trolls here, oh the trolls...
Not even close. It would be more like a 12 round, easier version of the Hatton fight, where Floyd plays matador to a guy coming straight at him, smacking him around inside when he had to, except Rios has the chin to last the entire fight but not the skill or speed to trouble Floyd in the ways Hatton did initially.

No way Rios is an easier night's work than some of the easy night's work Floyd has had.

Floyd by meticulous and brutal torture that lasts longer than it should be humanely allowed.

disgaree. I don't know if there has ever been a fight where the the difference in ring IQ is so great.rios has a great chin but the energy he'd lose from constantly swinging and missing would be mentally frustrating and physically tiring.

no. floyd still had to pay attention to pay hatton, cause hatton could do alot of things. rios does one thing. sticks his head in your chest and throws amateurish wide power shots that can be seen from a mile away. he will not TOUCH someone on the level of floyd. It will be a massacre, with floyd doing what he wants, when he wants, all night

I'm not arguing that Rios would trouble Floyd. But he would not be anywhere near the easiest fight Floyd's ever had. That's discrediting Rios too much. Floyd's made mincemeat of worse fighters than Rios, in very easy fights. Rios isn't that bad.

I'm not arguing it would be competitive in any way. Of course Floyd would tee off at will. But Rios would not be easier than Arturo Gatti standing in the middle of the ring, nothing more than target practice, or Victor Ortiz getting his ass kicked and crumbling in 4 rounds, or Juan Manuel Marquez being too small, too slow, and too bad a style to trouble Floyd in any way.

thats fine. but I happen to disagree, and say it would be easier than the aforementioned fighters you listed. those fighters all had more than 1 thing they were good at, to an extent. Rios has nothing. He got blessed with heavy hands and the powers to be are bankin on it. Not one boxing aficionado sees rios as anything more than a punching bag with a good chin and good power. He will not last long in the sport, certainly not at higher weights. Im sure theres reasons why they wanted to keep him as low as possible. Cause big boy power, combined with big boy skill, is as bad as it can get for a slugger like rios. he just is not good, at anything boxing. sorry...

i think rios heart and chin are amazing-but that doesn't make up for his complete lack of skill and defense.
