I understand that he took the fight with the intention of becoming a ppv star after the fight or at least becoming a house hold name. Months later I think it is safe to say that that failed.
Anyway moving on to my main point, in fighting Pacquiao he moved out of one of the hottest divisions boxing has to offer. He could have fought Khan, Garcia, Matthysse, Rios, Juda, Maidana and possibly convince Guerrero into a fight. Fighters like Broner are also no far away from a move up to the 140lb division.
In that division there wouldn't be a shortage of potential match ups. It'd keep him occupied for a good 3 years. Instead he placed himself in a completely dead division where he'd have to rely on pulling fighters up from 140lb or fighting fighters who should be in the 140lb division.
Too many fighters look at Pacquiao ( and Mayweather) as their ticket to stardom when they should instead focus on doing their own thing in a division that is comfortable for them. There's no doubt in my mind that if Bradley continued winning at 140lb he'd have created a well known and respected name.
