And speaking of commentating did anyone listen to Morales commentate during the Olympics for Telemundo? His speech sounded so bad.

If you think Ayala and Osuna are on the same level you sure don't speak spanish.

We need to see more Black and Latino announcers (not just ex-pro's), and working on the same nights. If they make up the bulk of all fighters on HBO, then they should make up the bulk of the announcing table. I also think this would eliminate a lot of the dumb biases during HBO fights (Floyd getting so much hate from Larry Merchant, announcers discounting Marquez's performance against Manny, etc). A balanced table makes for better discussions, disagreements, and less bandwagon announcing.

And on a separate note, I think having at least a few amateur fights should be a requirement for announcing. No one should be calling for blood and bravery in the ring if they don't know what it's like to get punched in the face (Larry Merchant).

hopkins is a good commentator. he demetrius' fight on ESPN once before. he was surprisingly unbiased and even critical of his nephew and had good insights.

i did, but i don't remember it being too bad. morales has always had a funny voice, imo he's just getting older. i have to go back and pay attention to his commentating if it is bad.

Juan Manuel Marquez does a fantastic job ring announcing. I also watch him on that show golpe a golpe. His skills are up to par.
