In an all out war, I subscribe to the issue of character as the defining factor in selecting a victor.

Gatti and Ward were both men of distinct honor at the time of their clashes.
The triliogy represents each man's heart and soul with accuracy.

When thinking of Rios I primarily think of his 'performance' during the Margaritio/Pac '24/7' programs.

Brandon played the fool to the even bigger fool and cheat, Tony.
He would mock the disease that has slowly decayed the abilities of Freddie
Roach.
He mocked Pacquiao with insults that had no place in or out of any prize ring.
And then came the Abril controversy.
In many books, Rios has already suffered his initial loss.

In essence, Brandon is a rather unpleasant bully.

Mike Alvarado will challange the bully in Rios and may stop him cold.
The equal slugger and the better man should rise to the occasion of character on Saturday evening.
That man is Mike Alvarado.

Good way to put it, but I slightly disagree. I think the victor will be the one who finally decides to use their wits, you can go to war but that doesn't mean you have to disregard skills and technique (not that these guys have a ton, but still). They are still trying to win after all.

I am still going with Rios in this one. Granted I have only seen the Prescott/Alvarado fight but I just was not impressed really with Mike. Sure he is tough as nails and won but, I think Rios is a better fighter. This one is hard to pick because both men will be beaten to hell I am sure.

I think Rios will have to do the same thing. I don't see any quit in Alvarado and Mike turns it on late he's not the fastest starter...

Seems like an interesting fight. Don't really know either, but interested enough in seeing it. Looks set to be out of judges' hands, which is good...

I can't really see Rios being stopped, but I really do think this is a tossup fight. Should be awesome.
