With their recent run-in in Cancun, when Toney and Rahman get it on on March 18th, it will be a rematch.
"I'm glad we're promoting the fight and I think it's going to be a major event and we're doing whatever we can to keep it on premium television rather than pay-per-view," said Bob Arum, who averted a purse bid for the bout by coming to an agreement with Dan Goossen and Don King.
Sources say Showtime isn't interested in this event, so it looks like Arum will be taking this bout to HBO. Arum is determined to make sure this fight will not be on pay-per-view.
"Yeah, because we feel that our guy - Rahman - is going to win the fight and we want to expose it to as many possible people, and no matter how we do on pay-per-view, the audience is much smaller."
As for the site, Arum says, "We're leaning towards Atlantic City. We're talking to them now."
Many were surprised that an agreement was reached between the trio of Arum, Goossen and King.
"We were very hopeful but there was a lot of egos to get through and everything," said Arum. "But we made a very fair proposal to them and finally they realized it was the best thing to accept the proposal."
*even though his motives for wanting the fight on premium tv instead of PPV aren't exactly on point, it still means it won't cost an extra $50.

. But whatever the reasoning if he keeps it off PPV than it's better in the long run for the fans and viewers, so props to him.
