Tarver "50/50 or nothing for Tyson fight"

Tarver on Tyson bout: "50-50 or there's no fight!"
    from **********
December 21, 2005 - Yesterday evening reliable sources informed **********.com that light heavyweight king Antonio "The Magic Man" Tarver was demanding a 50-50 purse split for a PPV showdown against former undisputed heavyweight champion "Iron" Mike Tyson. At first we didn't believe the information to be accurate, however, a quick phone call to Tarver confirmed his demands. "Why I would take anything less? It's 50-50 or there's no fight, I'm not taking any more shorts and 50-50 is a fair offer," said Tarver. ********** understands that Tyson would have likely been willing to move forward under a 60-40 split in favor of Tyson. If Tarver's position doesn't change, the chances of Tyson-Tarver ever coming off look grim. Tyson was unavailable for immediate comment, but we plan on speaking with him shortly to see what he has to say about Tarver demanding parity. Stay tuned to our front page for all the latest. REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST!

I want to see this fight but cause there is a chance he will be knocked out, but seeing Tyson lately he won't have it to reach this ugly's chin.

What in the world makes Tarver feel he deserves a 50/50 cut?
What was the split in his third fight with Roy Jones?

I don't know either. Greg on that site I referenced says that Tarver's motivation is money. Well, isn't that all boxers's motivation.

Him asking for 50/50 shows weakness my mind. He knows Tyson won't agree to that and if he does he knows he'll be well compensated in case he loses because what boxer could make Tarver millions in a fight?

He's pricing himself out of the fight and is probably going to go around saying Tyson was afraid of him. But at the same time, he's kind of smart.
He's realized he could take Tyson out of retirement by just trash-talking so maybe he figured he can get him to take a crazy 50-50 deal against a guy alot of people don't know just by trash-talking.

That's exactly what it is. He's still doing WHATEVER he can to get attention and get boxing fans talking about him.

Plus, he and many (including me) know that he can probably beat Tyson.

Tarver is a waste of skin. A loud mouth for no reason.

Mark my words, this fight will never happen. No reason to keep hyping it up or even talking about it. A 40 year old retired heavyweight facing a 37 year old light heavyweight = who gives a ****!
