If Lacy beats Calzaghe, I would LOVE to see him fight Kessler this summer! Holy ****, 2006 could be Lacy's year if he beats all the champs at 168Comment

I would love to see that fight... but at the moment I wouldn't be confident in Lacy's success. Judging on how the Calzaghe fight goes it will prove to me (as if that really matters) if he can take Kessler on.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoIf Lacy beats Calzaghe, I would LOVE to see him fight Kessler this summer! I agree completely. I think Kessler will be the tougher fight (I'm not saying he's better than Calzaghe, so settle down), so if Lacy handles Calzaghe with ease, it will provide some answers as to how he'd handle Kessler.Comment

ill go against the river and say lacy losses first. LIke him or not Calzaghe has been through some wars and is still a good fighter. This will not be the first newcomer he has fought. And he obviously has beaten them all. This will be the biggest step up in compitition for Lacy. He has never fought a fighter as well rounded as Calzaghe.
Now yes i know that calzaghe has had injuries and less then stellar fights in the last couple of years, but that alone doesnt make him a washed up fighter. All it means is that he wasnt fulfilling his potential like he used to. It is not that his skills have diminished as much as his confidence has. If he finds the old confidence he once had, he will come out and dispatch of Lacy. But that will be his biggest hurdle. Himself!
Calzaghe has been a great fighter over the years and i am positive that he still has a number of good fights left in him.
The one thing that i find funny about the people the bash calzaghe is that they are bashing a guy that is 40 fights in and is still undefeated. To many people act like he is overrated. Just ask his past opponents if he is underated. I am sure they know better then any of us.Last edited by RastaSmoker; 12-21-2005, 02:22 AM.Comment

I agree with you, Calzaghe's biggest enemy is himself IMO. I don't know if it's his confidence or his hunger that isn't what it used to be, but something has changed over the course of his career. I still think he will step it up for Lacy and beat him though. I think Joe has been a bit of a flake, and IMO Jeff is the more personable fighter, but I think Joe will come out on top in this fight.Originally posted by RastaSmokerill go against the river and say lacy losses first.
