It's not like he didn't try guy! But then again, I guess you've fought at weight classes that your body has outgrown and made weight everytime huh?

The unbeaten Californian still went on to win his bout, stopping Murray in 11 rounds for his third win of the year, all inside the distance.

However, it wasn’t the knockout trend that continued in his last bout, but his struggles at the scales. Rios failed to make weight for his vacant title fight with Richard Abril, a fight that saw the 26-year old escape with a controversial split decision win this past April. [Click Here To Read More]
It amazes me when people make statements like "just make weight" or "he should have made weight" or "how unprofessional of him" well I'm sure none of these critics have ever had a weight to meet in their life. It's easy to be the voice when you've never had to do it. Rios almost killed himself, yes killed trying to make weight at 135 in his last two fights. I'm sure none of them knew that the Murray fight was almost called off after the weigh in, not because Rios didn't make weight, because the "doctor" wasn't going to allow him to fight. Fortunately for him he was able to show some form of hydration in his body before the fight. That's why I agree with Roger Mayweather when he says "most people don't know ***** about boxing"

He knew that he couldn't make weight anymore after the Murray fight. Yet he did it again anyway against Richard Abril.

          Like I said, unprofessional.

The fans pay money to see you come in well prepared to perform. Not to half ass it because you refuse to get into the proper weight class.

This guy might be too big for 140 considering his lack of discipline.

That may be true, but that was also a fight being demanded by the public because of the incident that unfolded between Rios and Abril. Had Rios not taking the fight, you and other critics would have bashed him for ducking Abril.
