Lol at Canelo picking Cotto and btw no one wants Martinez-Canelo, the fight at 154 is Cotto-Canelo and will happen if Cotto chooses Canelo not the other way around.

He already chose. Why do you think he was ringside for Canelo/Lopez?

Sorry to break this to you but fighters don't "choose" who they want to fight, that's not the way the business of boxing works.

What happens is the promoters choose who is the best option for that fighter at that time. What will make the most money and fill the venue. It's hilarious to me the way fans think the fighter is in control of every aspect of his career. The manager is there to handle the money, the trainer is there to train him and the promoter sets up the fight in the best interest of the fighter at that point in his career.

Fighters can say they don't want to fight a certain fighter or say they want some specific fighter but it's rare. Most of the time it's about money, plain and simple. A fighter is ready to fight, that's what he does. It's the job of the promoter and manager to make sure they are bringing that fighter up properly.

That's why when fans say "he's ducking so and so" they don't know what they are talking about.

In the case of Canelo, it makes perfect sense to fight Cotto. He's a step up, you have the Mexico v PR thing going and it's a bigger fight money wise you could argue than Canelo v Martinez.

Cotto has no promoter so he like Mayweather are the only current boxers who choose their opponents.

Martinez has fought 3 cab drivers in a row(well 2 cab drivers and a decednt fight in Mcklin).

Martinez has fought people with no timming at all, or way slower than him. As soon as he fights somebody with timming hell get his ass handed to him.
First of all chavez jr fought total bums his whole career with the exception of lee who was out weighed by 20 lbs. martinez beat williams (twice), pavlik, dzinzurik (who was undefeated and had never been knocked down) and a solid macklin. He was out weighed by 20 lbs, tore his knee and had a broken hand but still stood toe to toe for the final minute how do you not respect this guy?

                Great Fight

Both of the fighters are calling out Mayweather. If you want to fight the best and have a huge payday then fight each other and the winner will make it hard to be overlooked.

"Canelo has better and safer offers. After what happened to [Chavez] Junior, logic would tell me that he'll fight Cotto [because] there is less risk and more money," Martinez said.

So what the **** is he trying to pick on JMW/WWs for then? Does he think that somehow Floyd wont go with the most money? Cmon Sergio just stop ****ing around and get in the ring with GGG.

He's already mentally bracing himself, he's stating that he has low expectations. He'll try, but won't be disappointed if it doesn't work out how he wants it to.

Why is he considered to be "ducking" Golovkin? As much as I wanna see Golovkin fight Martinez, it isn't the right time. I'd rather Golovkin fight one more time on HBO against another relevant MW (Chavez/Geale/Macklin). GGG is the toughest fight, but he hasn't proved that he's the indisputable #2. I know, the same could be said for Chavez. But, Jr was coming off for a string of decent opposition, and GGG hasn't even done that. GGG would be better than Macklin/Barker/Dzinziruk, but now that Sergio is in a better position, he doesn't necessarily need to accept just any opponent.

                    We will see what happens.

Funny how Floyd is supposedly ducking Sergio, but Sergio isn't ducking Golovkin......
