Cotto would probably win against Canelo, why? cuz Cotto's the better boxer, has better experience, he can pick you apart at a slow pace, and he's battle tested, but i wouldn't be surprised if Canelo gives him a lot of trouble seeing that Cotto doesn't have the best defensive tactics....at the same time, Canelo's no defensive star himself....might be a close one, but if I had to put money down, I would put it down on Cotto

Cottos a better fighter than Serg at 154. Look at both resumes, assuming Cotto beats Trout. Sergs prior resume at 154 is less than average and he looked average at 154. Serg never blossemed until he decided to go up to 160. I think Serg would struggle at 154 again if he moved back down.

Sergio Martinez was the most avoided fighter at 154 and the late Vernon Forrest can attest to that. Martinez had to move up just to get a fight. Cotto, Canelo and Mayweather will avoid Sergio Martinez for as long as possible.
