Comments Thread For: Rahman’s Trainer: If he retires or goes on, I’m with him

Eddie Mustafa Muhammad had been working with Hasim Rahman in preparation for his heavyweight title challenge against Alexander Povetkin, but was unable to join him on fight night in Germany this past weekend due to passport issues. Instead, Muhammad watched from home as Rahman lost via second-round technical knockout.

Muhammad spoke with BoxingScene.com just days after the fight about his passport issues, Rahman’s performance and condition, and whether he’d advise the former heavyweight champion to retire. [Click Here To Read More]

Really? He Got His Last Paycheck Too! Should Be Banned!!!

Call it dehydration all you want. He's a shot fighter, has been for some time, he's beaten nobody credible. If in fact he had dehydration and went to the hospital the night before the fight, then everyone involved with the promotion of this fight, should be banned for allowing it to take place. Malpractice! Pimps! Everybody rode Rahman yet one more fight, calling it "mandatory", so to get themselves a paycheck. None of you deserve to work in the game of Boxing.

Eddie, denial is a terrible thing and in the end it may cause serious health issues or even death for your fighter. So, if you truly care for Rahman tell him to do the most logical thing and retire.

Eddie is a little punchie himself!

Listen Eddie know well himself when it's time to go, well maybe he don't because he stayed around a little to long himself letting people stop him inside the distance before he decided to hang them up.

I like Eddie a lot but this is absolute B/S. First off, Rahman "dehydrated" my a**. Rahman was flat out out of shape and if he says he lost 30 lbs that only tells you how much out of shape he WAS.

But it's not like we didn't see this during "I'm not on the poster-gate" prior.

Frankly Rahman is living off of what happened in '01 10yrs plus. There's a reason he's gone through a slew of trainers. There's a reason that he's fought close to 300lbs.

The way Eddie was talking before-hand you'd think Rock would have come in at 235lb like he did against Toney 1. The fact is, Rahman is limited, unmotivated and old.

For what he had(tool wise) he had a GREAT career. But the train stops.

If he fights again(he will), he'll be a "name" journeyman on some upstarts resume.

Not only will he fight again, he'll get another title shot.
