Comments Thread For: Team Martinez: Canelo, Chavez and Then Mayweather?

According to Pablo Sarmiento, trainer of WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (50-2-2, 28KOs), the first target on their list could be WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Sarmiento says Martinez. 37-years-old, has a few years left in his career and could easily have at least two fights per year.

Martinez is recovering from a knee injury and he could return in April or May of 2013. Sarmiento would like to have his fighter face Canelo, then a rematch with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and then a pursued meeting with Floyd Mayweather Jr. [Click Here To Read More]

LOL @ 2014. Floyd would be 37 and Sergio would be 39. So long for that fight.

Floyd won't happen... Floyd's to much of a B!T(H that ducks anybody that posses a threat.

i really wish that martinez's team and promoter would consider golovkin...i can understand that a fight with golovkin wouldn't make much financial sense since he's still relatively unknown..but it would still make for a great fight. hopefully golovkin can get daniel geale next and if he beats geale then hopefully we can get martinez vs golovkin in 2013.
