yeah hes been retired for a long time.

it was discovered that a lot of his fights had been fixed and guys were taking falls for him to get the fight against bert cooper where he was knocked out in the first.

the guy was a crap boxer and he never woulda been anywhere had people not been taking falls.

they did a 60 minutes show on this and they had a tape recorded conversation with melitos manager talking to a friend about fixing his fights. his friend asks him if he has any chance against cooper and melito's manager is like...

"hahhaha, hell no, this guy is gonna get killed his first time out of the chute."
