How does ANYBODY expect Berto to fill seats? Berto has fought in Florida before and didn't sell sheeeit. I think he sold about 1,500 tickets for the Quintana fight.

Arum is using "the stadium" to sell tickets. Just like he did with Texas Stadium and Yankee Stadium. He is selling "an event", not a fight.

Dibella is one of the top 3 best US-based promoters. Look at the exposure he's helped give Sergio Martinez, and the fights he gets him. Barker on HBO?

What about the vacant WBC title shot he got Berto against an unknown fighter? How about losing his WBC title to Ortiz, and then in his very next fight got a shot at the IBF title and won it?

You could say this is all Al Haymon's doing, but Dibella's name and influence also helps him as well.

Al CAN (but doesn't for boxing) book the arenas, put down deposits, etc.

Al has neither a promoter's license nor a manager's license.

That is why guys like Mayweather still hire GBP to do that logistics work for him.

People are a little too fooled by the moves these big promoters make cause they got the bigger names but they don't see the small things promoters like DiBella do with his less knowns fighters. DiBella just got Dulorme on HBO vs Abregu too.
