Come on man do you just want to argue? age doesn’t determine when a fighter is shot or not, Roy was shot when they fought in that rematch. And Tito came out of retirement and called Roy out 2 very different circumstances. Sure that fight was a joke but neither guy ducked each other a decade before.

Hopkins never moved up in weight to fight Roy they were both established Light Heavys at the time. I agree boxing is a business how is B-Hop not take 40 percent vs Roy at that time especially when he didn’t really have options bad business. Please stop deviating from the actual topic

roy never landed any real bomb on hopkins, he landed some slaps and some quick shots, he couldn't get in a heavy punch, and he did hurt hopkins, to the body, hopkins was visibly hurt, not wobbling around, but visibly bothered

dude its not about who is shot.your making it seem like hopkins was a sprong chicken lol.both guys were well past it

man,the point is hopkins was a smaller and older fighter and had been through much more wars than jones.niether were fresh,so dont try and make it seem like hopkins was picking on roy lol.

even at that point in their career when they had the rematch, roy was still a bigger draw.you think roy woulda fought for 40% lol

you know what, at that time, i thought bernard hopkins was making a big mistake as well, but you gotta respect the fact that bernard hopkins was his own dude, with a lot of pride, and didn't feel that way...dude was a shrewd businessman, we just didn't know it yet...again, it was about pride...roy jones jr., beat him in the ring in 93, but bernard hopkins, was looking to take it all from him...

My god with this response i give you should shut your argument here down if not you just want to argue.

B-Hop had more wars and Roy was the fresher of the 2 you say? RJ was knocked out 3 times once right before their fight went down. Joe Calzaghe gave Roy a beating for about 10 rounds. So how Roy was the fresher of the 2 is beyond me.

B-Hop might not have been prime anymore but he wasn’t shot. Roy was shot, he literally just got knocked out by Danny Green in a round the fight before. B-Hop went on to win the lineal Light Heavyweight championship and put up a good fight vs Dawson. Can you comprehend now the difference of where the fighters were at that stage of their career when the rematch took place now?

honestly i didn't see any of that, and thats a fight i've watched several times over the years...being fair, hopkins to me in that fight gave roy jones jr. too much respect, didn't let his hands go...i can remember at least two solid right hands from jones to hopkins chin, and it didn't dent hopkins...@ 160 jones was knocking out dudes left and right with one shot, until the hopkins fight...in the calling it as i see it department, jones was still backpeddling in the 11th and 12th rounds nobody was used to seeing that...

roy was ko'd 3 times right before that fight lol.he was stopped by green in 1 rnd from 1 punch.that isnt a war lol.same with that 2nd tarver fight.only wars jones have ever been in are tarver 1,and glenn johnson

can you seem to comprehend that no matter what happens, roy is still a bigger draw than bhop?do you think roy wouldve fought for 40?

Roy also took solid shots for Hopkins that fight, Roy did hurt him with a body shot. Roy’s hand was also damaged so I think for Roy’s first real test that was a solid win.

You said B-Hop had more wear and tear, how could he if he’s barley taken damage in his career. Knock outs like the ones that Roy suffered are career ending and thats exactly what they did to Roy. I don’t think Roy was the bigger draw at that time to be honest. If was why wasn’t that fight bought by HBO like he rest of Hopkins fights were after that?

So in your mind were both fighter the same at that stage of their career? Both of them were past their prime but not shot your saying?

solid win, yes, but again, hopkins wasn't battered, nor ko'd...nothing to make me think he would duck him in a rematch...
