"Boxing is a tight-knit fraternity. Everybody knows everybody. But a line in the resin will forever be drawn seperating those who step into the square ring and those who DON'T. Many, many people make money on a fight, but when the bell sounds, only two people answer it" - Randy Smith , February 2003, Journal Inquirer Newspaper - Manchester, CT

Damn, looking at Randy Smith's record.. he was the ultimate journeyman!
Went the distance with Iran Barkley, Frank Tate, Michael Olajide, Michael Nunn, Don Lee, Mike McCallum, Chris Eubank and Bernard Hopkins. He also fought none other than the Iceman John Scully, losing a 10-round decision inbetween his 10-round decision losses to Eubank and Hopkins.Comment

One Randy Smith is a local writer here in CT... I fought the one you are talking about... He was a REAL cagey guy who went the distance with MANY top names. He fought unn, Tate and Olijade something like wihin a one month span or something... Randy was a defensive wizard who also beat several rated guys in upsets.Comment
