I don't remember the exact dates, but I've had my fingers caught in car doors and it hurt real bad. I've seen other people get thier hands caught in car doors and they yelled "open the door!!". Fingernails get purple and fall off. You never seen this?

it happens,,just last week it happened to my 4 yr old daughter,luckily it was just the tip of finger and my spouse years ago smashed thumb in car,man that thumb looked flat and couldn't even sleep that night very good and it still hurt for days,i imagine a boxer couldn't do much for a couple o weeks since they will be putting force on their hands during training,,it happens

Good deal. A one month delay isn't the end of the world. Big relief.

It's at least a two month postponement. Salido wants to reschedule the fight for January 2013, but he won't be able to fully train for at least 4-6 weeks. He won't be doing any bag work or sparring during that time.

I thought the same thing. The story sounds bogus. However, as a few posters here have attested, they're familiar with that type of incident. I, myself, once caught my thumb while shutting my car door. The pain was IMMENSE...could barely sleep that night with my thumb throbbing incessantly. Lost the nail a few weeks later.

Salido broke his index finger. Could be he only got one finger caught in a door. That's all it takes.
