Comments Thread For: Arellano High on Cano, Closes Door on Victor Ortiz

Longtime fight manager Rolando Arellano is expecting really big things from his fighter Pablo Cesar Cano of Mexico. Just 22, Cano is 25-1-1 with 19 knockouts. He will be moving up in weight to challenge Paulie Malignaggi for his welterweight world title on Golden Boy's Oct. 20 card at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

In his most recent fight in July, Cano won a seventh-round technical decision over Johan Perez to win an interim junior welterweight belt.

Not sure what all the hype about this guy is. Who has he beat? When he tried stepping it up an old Morales crushed him. Look at his record, he hasn't fought anyone of a credible bloodline besides Morales.

What hype? Most casual fans have never seen him, and the more serious fans aren't high on him. Especially, after the Morales fight.

He's a straw man. They're building him up so Paulie can Knock him down, buddy rough him, anyway. Promotion is part of the buisiness.
