All game plans go out the window when a normally solid, but unspectacular puncher is hurting the naturally bigger man. It's a big adjustment to make let alone the fact that Dawson looked like he was out of gas fairly early on - again a symptom of the weight loss. I think Ward beats Dawson at any weight, but no way is Ward whitewashing him like he did if Dawson comes into the ring at 90-95%.
Maybe the fairest assessment Ive seen yet...

It happens often in boxing, definitely. Things happen before fights and they go a long ways toward dictating how the fight physically plays out. In my experience most fighters go into fights not perfectly ready
I agree with you. But, last minute weight loss? I'm confused, you guys had a pretty lengthy camp, right? Was the weight not coming off through the whole camp, and then you had to quickly cut weight off days before the weigh in? Or?...And, I agree that most fighters rarely go into a fight 100%, for example Ward fought Froch with an injured left hand and hurt it more so in the middle of the fight. At this level, with lengthy intense training camps, injuries minor and severe alike happen and you have to handle them.

Hey John. What did you make of Chad calling himself a throwback fighter before the fight? I only ask as I talked to Naazim and he had a lot to say on the matter and just wanted to get your view on it.

Maybe there really is something to this "Son Of God" stuff. Ward seems to be getting special treatment.

So Scully finally came clean about Dawson being KO'd in sparring? Guess it's hard to keep the lie going when so many people say it was true.

If Dawson really was weight drained then it reflects badly on his team.

They either didn't have the experience to see that this would be a problem or they didn't have enough pull to get him to change his bad choice.

That was outside of the boxing ring though. Ward is 0-3 in the Legal Court Battles.

In the ring, Ward is 27-0
