So I thought for sure this guy was all hype until I saw him beating the **** out of Goofi! Still too early to tell how far he'll go but he sure is fun to watch. 6'2" and 220 pounds and he can whoop some ass! I haven't been so impressed with a heavyweight boxer in a long time. His aggressiveness reminds me of Lacy.
Tyson gave him some major props after his victory over Goofi. I still say Sultan is very raw and if he fights a skillful calculated heavyweight he will lose but hopefully his management will bring him along slowly.

Well he is already 30 so he can't move too slow. I think he will be ready in two to three fights for his shot. If he can keep that kind of output going for 10-12 rounds he will be hard to beat. One good thing about him is that he actually seems like he has a chin. That has been missing in an up and comer besides Peter for a while.

it seemed to me like there was a point in round 5 or 6 where sultan seemed to get a little winded and off balance after getting hit with a decent (at best) shot. he looked good against whitaker, but whitaker never threw a combo the whole fight. i seriously doubt this guy could keep up that kinda pace against a tough heavyweight who forced him to expend some energy defending himself. whitaker was pretty much just letting sultan tee off on him without responding. then again sultan probably knew what a piece of **** whitaker was and decided to go out there and bomb him out, i doubt he thought the fight would make it past 8.. so i have to think youd see a much more conservative fight plan from him if he were to face a top ranked fighter.

Yep, thats the reason I like him. He actually throws combo's and isn't affraid to get hit like the whole heavyweight division except for maybe Brewster and Peter. He wants to be a mean, tuff, bastard and as long as he keeps it up, I'm a fan!

too raw? Sultan beat Felix Savon twice.

i was a fan ten seconds into the fight after he let loose what seemed like a dozen unanswered punches into goofis gut.

i also loved how towards the end of the fight he was just loading up his left hand and waiting for whitaker to give him an inch. man whitaker was too scared to even try to hit sultan cause he knew everytime he moved his right arm that ****in left was coming right down the pipe.

like i said before he only looked raw in this fight cause he knew how bad whitaker was and he came out to bomb him out of the ring in 5 rounds. there was really no need to "box" goofi, and sultan was smart not to even bother trying.

if he has beaten savon and won a silver medal im sure his skills must be much more refined than you could tell from this fight.

Sultan's strategy was probably to impress the public. If he'd be too calculated, not many people would have liked it.

I liked the fact that he took couple of huge rights from Witaker. Probably he has decent chin, which is good.

Well I haven't seen Whitaker fight in a while, and even though he didn't throw too many punches in this fight, he looked technically a lot better throwing his right hand. It had some pop on it. He used to have that awkward chopping right hand. I think the determining factor with Sultan and a lot of fighters will be how good of a chin he has. So far it looks good but we need to see him take a real big shot and see if he can take it.
