Good article, what a breath of fresh air. Not the usual Pacman ass kissing/Floyd bashing BS that we all have to constantly deal with. I am going to shed some real knowledge here everyone. Maybe Floyd is scared, maybe he is too greedy, maybe he is just an ignorant ****** jerk who loves to play mind games. These are all very possible and probably even true. However this is something that everyone needs to understand, Pac never had, and will never have, more than a punchers chance against Floyd. Anyone who believes different truly is a blind Pac worshipping/Floyd hating fool, or simply knows nothing about the intricacies of boxing skills and fundamentals. Pac landing a monster left cross and knocking Floyd out or hurting him bad is the only way Pac can win, period. Who really believes that Pac, someone who was clearly and decisively outboxed by Morales and JMM, can actually box with Floyd or outbox him? Seriously? I wish they would get in the ring so everyone can really see what I mean. Pac is a great fighter but he might as well come out guns blazing throwing lefts like a maniac because if he can't land an H-bomb and take Floyd out, he will get taken apart if this fight happens.

Finally, someone on BoxingScene.com speaks the truth and actually calls out the idiots on ESPN who ignore the truth in pursuit of their hatred of Floyd Mayweather.

I have been saying for three years that Arum is the one keeping this fight from happening and he will continue to keep it from happening unless Pacquaio's contract runs out and he leaves Arum. By that time, it will be the equivalent of Jones-Hopkins II -- no one will care about the fight anymore.

Too bad the idiots who post 90 percent of the messages on this board will not look at the sound argument this writer is making. By the end of today, there will be 500 posts on this site, and 90 percent will say the same lame things they have been saying for three years -- Mayweather is scared, Mayweather is ducking, Mayweather didn't want to give Pac 50 percent, Mayweather is using the drug tests as a excused to duck the fight, etc., etc. I, for one, am thrilled to finally see a boxing writer writing the truth instead of allowing himself to be influenced by hate or by Bob Arum's freebies.

Few things to the people who post undocumented comments (as far as I know prove me wrong). Did 50 ever SAY that floyd was afraid of manny or did he say the fight couldn't be signed because Floyd didn't express interest? Also people are forgetting in negotiations that manny had some outrageous demands and floyd agreed and made his, saying that if you don't take them now... it won't be there next time. Also considering no one knows Pac's ppv numbers theres no way he deserves anything more than 40% of the purse. They haven't been released unlike mayweathers. The reason this fight is getting held up is because Arum hates Floyd and Floyd hates Arum and neither wants to make the other money. That's it... Also it's less likely to happen now that Mayweather holds a lot more cards than in the initial negotiations after Bradley and Marquez III. **** this ****... seriously.

If you don't know his PPV numbers how can you so quickly be so sure that he doesn't deserve more than 40%. To say this, you'd need to KNOW that he deserves 40% and therefore would HAVE to know his PPV numbers. So we can assume that YOU, of all the millions holding their breaths...YOU know.........Or, better still, just shut up and come back to earth..

EVERYONE knows that Bob Arum is the reason the fight hasn't been made. This is one thing that both sides agree on.

We all know Bob Arum, he's been in the sport longer than anyone posting here, most likely. However the fight will be made and it will be pac's very last fight.

No "we all (don't) know Arum..." and yes he's been in the sport a hell of a lot longer than any of you. but not me. I was already long retired from active boxing when Arum came on the scene with Ali and Terrell-later changed to Ali and Chuvalo. But that makes no difference, he knows so much more about boxing than all of us put together, that he'd still have lots over to do it again.

The guy has studied and I mean Harvard-power studied boxing from the 18th century to the present day. He's a student of the sport and there's very little he doesn't know about it. Bob Knight of the El Paso Times wrote a brilliant article about it; told me much I didn't know about Arum. You should get away from that Arum obsession of yours, put it in the garage for a lube and oil change or something.

I thought the point of being a journalist and reporting stuff was to show neutrality..the writers bias just oozes with contempt over the screen. It's cleverly built up with an easement of politeness and then just gets downright nasty. As a sports journalist isn't your job to create discussion not division? "Mop the floor with him"..troll for controversy and board fights much? I don't care for this fight personally only did back in 2009 when it was interesting..I also used to be a Mayweather fan until he pulled the stunt of retiring because he did not want to fight Paul Williams...to say either guy is innocent to me is bullshh..to blame this on a promoter to me is bullshhh..these are two grown men and humongous stars..either one could have easily gone on a campaign publicly and really made this happen. The fact is both are too comfortable making a kings ransom fighting other people. Pacquaio has no business above 147 and Floyd needs to stop fighting more than 4 times in 5 years..neither one in my book is top 5 due to the opposition they've faced lately..there are more active fighters actively fighting the best in their division who in my opinion deserve to be listed above them both on the p4p list. Sergio being the lead in that list as p4p #1. To me Floyd's next fight should be a tune up and then a fight with sergio. Pacquaio/Marquez should be the end and retirement for both.

That picture you have there must be Jack Johnson in his later days, he looks a bit too heavy, and that was when he was old and just trying to get a few fights. Perhaps when he was on the run, or after the prison sentence. He was genuinely great fighter.
